Necho II (reigned 610–595 BCE) was a pharaoh of Egypt’s 26th Dynasty, also known as the Saite Period. The son of Psamtik I, he pursued ambitious military and economic projects aimed at restoring Egypt’s influence in the Near East during the decline of the Assyrian Empire.
