The "Table of Nations" is found in the Book of Genesis chapter 10. It is the biblical record of the descendants of Noah's three sons after the flood:
Shem
Ham
Japheth
This chapter explains how the nations and people of the earth spread out after the flood and before the scattering at Babel in the Book of Genesis 11.
Purpose of the Table of Nations
The Table of Nations is more than a genealogy. It shows the unity of humanity - all nations came from one family through Noah, God's sovereignty over the nations, the origins of ancient peoples known in the biblical world, the groundwork for later biblical history, especially the line leading to Abraham through Shem.
